On Sunday, August 22, 2021, Kalin Moultrie of Marietta, Georgia was crowned Miss Georgia High School 2022. Moultrie will now move on to the Miss High School America National Pageant next June in Little Rock, AR. During the National competition, the delegates will be scored in Interview (40%), Evening Gown (40%) and Fun Fashion (20%).
Moultrie is a sophomore at Lassiter High School, an A/B student, five time Gold Presidential Service Award Winner, works a part-time job and is the captain of the JV Cheerleaders. Upon reaching the 3rd grade it was discovered that she had learning differences and was placed in an individualized education program. This led to her being made fun of for being in the program.
The Miss High School America pageant’s national platform is B.R.A.V.E which stands for BUILDING RESPECT AND VALUES FOR EVERYONE. Kalin believes this program can truly change the way many children are treated and the way they treat others. “It took me a long time to realize my “value” and something I wish I had learned at an earlier age”, said Kalin.
The Miss High School America Scholarship Pageant Organization was started in 2009, for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young women. It is the goal of MHSA to provide outstanding junior, high, high school and collegiate girls the opportunity to compete in a prestigious national level scholarship pageant. MHSA partnered with the Livingston Foundation has awarded over $400,000 in cash scholarships to their national winners over the last 10 years. Each national winner is awarded a prize package totaling over $100,000 in scholarships, travel, wardrobe photoshoots and prizes each year.
