DEAR EDITOR:

The Letter to the Editor in your paper on April 22, 2021, by Jean Durham has a glaring error. Jean states that having a Social Security card is proof of citizenship. The card is so that the federal government collects taxes. My inlaws came to the States from Cuba getting jobs having Social Security cards, paying taxes, retiring and collecting benefits till death, never becoming citizens and therefore could not vote.
