On behalf of the Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC), we would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the positive article, written by Chart Riggall, about the Mableton Town Square ribbon-cutting ceremony in the April 22, 2021 edition of Marietta Daily Journal. The Mableton Town Square ceremony comes on the heels of the recent dedication of another park, Discovery Park at the River Line, located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.

MIC is made up of a group of outstanding resident-volunteers. For 20 years, our organization has been serving the interests of unincorporated Mableton in a variety of areas, such as zoning, community forums, economic development, Adopt-A-Mile litter clean-up, community garden, farmers market, parks, HOA network, and Secret Santa children’s program. More recently, we have prioritized our engagement with our local schools through our education committee. None of the services can be completed without the support of our Board of Commissioners, business sponsors, residents, members, and other community supporters.

Mableton is uniquely located geographically and is blessed with an abundance of outstanding community assets, unlike nearly any other area in metro Atlanta. Where else will you find an area with killer views of the city, direct access to the Chattahoochee River, close proximity to the Atlanta city center, the dynamic and quaint Mable House Amphitheater, community garden, seasonal Farmers market, easy access to the world’s largest airport, the Silver Comet Trail, and yet remain a vibrant and relatively affordable real estate market? Nowhere else but Mableton!

Our community has its challenges at times, and media coverage has not always been positive. However, we have persevered and are now entering a new era of momentum to hopefully catapult our community on par with other communities in Cobb County and metro Atlanta.

Thank you MDJ for the recognition!
