DEAR EDITOR:

The title of your February 25, 2021 article was “Let us not speak ill of the dead.” Yet you proceeded to speak nothing but ill of Rush Limbaugh.

I believe it would be very appropriate to compare Rush to you.

♦ Rush has been for many years the top radio host in America and you in contrast, are a local rinky-dink columnist.

♦ Rush has between 20-29 million followers and I doubt if you ever had even a few thousand.

♦ Rush told the truth 99.8% of the time and you being an extreme liberal invent what you want truth to be and report that. You rarely speak the real truth.

♦ You say that both Limbaugh and Trump were unscrupulous and mean spirited when actually they saw the potential in people and America and were committed to improve it. You and the right are trying to change what made America great and when you can’t win an argument you resort to calling the conservatives sexist, racist, homophobic and misogynist.

♦ You said that Rush’s program was a cynical money-making scheme, yet he gave many millions of dollars to very worthy charitable causes and I doubt if you have done the same.

♦ You said that the fairness doctrine allowed Rush to say what he wanted no matter how nasty it was, yet you spent the last four years speaking only vile things about conservatives and never pointed out the positive things they did especially Limbaugh and Trump.

♦ You said that what Rush said was “never in good fun. Ever.” Yet conservatives loved him because he was fun and usually spoke well of people and lifted his audience’s spirit. This is in contrast to your constant hate filled rhetoric.

♦ Rush’s program will continue to be broadcasted for years after his passing, but I doubt if any of your columns will be re-published after you pass away. They will stay in the trash where they belong or in the cat’s litter box — both are appropriate.

♦ You said “Limbaugh achieved nothing more that stoking division and hate” while you and the right constantly do exactly what you accused Limbaugh of doing.

♦ Last and most importantly, you will NEVER be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom Like Rush received and was well deserved!

♦ I could go on, but I believe I have made my point.

Colonel Cole, this is a well reasoned column.

Thank you for your service. I'm thinking you got out in time. Many of \the generals in the Pentagon these days are totally political, having sensed that their paths to advancement lie with Leftists views. Example? The new Biden pick for SecDef, Lloyd J. Austin III, retired 4 star general, certainly has his wet finger up in the air, checking which way the wind is blowing, not to mention having been on the board of Raytheon, a major defense contractor. He will keep troops on the streets of Washington, D.C., as long as the Joe Biden and the Democrats want him to.
