Goodness, how my generation has changed! It was 52 years ago today (Oct. 21) that tens of thousands of members of my generation gathered for a two-day march on Washington to protest our involvement in the Vietnam War. Who doesn’t remember Moratorium Day? So, now as I get older, and I do admit I get more easily confused, I see members of my generation complaining because an American president wants to bring our troops out of a country where we simply shouldn’t be, meaning in harm’s way.
If removing our troops from a foreign country is an issue today, then why did we scream so often and so loudly 52 years ago? Again, as I said, I do get more easily confused these days.
