DEAR EDITOR:

When asked to do the operating system for the new IBM-PC in 1980, Microsoft bought outright an operating system from Seattle Computer Products that would save a year of development time. It was called the “Quick and Dirty Operating System, “ or QDOS, from the developer Tim Paterson.

As Bill Gates and Paul Allen were flying to IBM headquarters in Armonk, New York, to present their product, they realized that they did not have a bootstrap loading program. Before taking a nap, Paul Allen sketched a 47-byte loading program on a napkin. Bill reduced the program to 17 bytes. Bill also had refined the Altair BASIC software on an Altair computer that he had earlier configured to mimic an IRM computer. The demonstration was successful.

Would you be surprised to find that every cell in your body has code arranged on the DNA chain that determines every one of your personal characteristics? There are three billion genes on the DNA double helix that are coded, and folded neatly into the nucleus of the cell.

If one human cell was the size of SunTrust Park, the nucleus would be a penny on one of the bleacher seats. If you were to unwind all of the DNA in your body, it would stretch to the sun and back 600 times. There are 6,000,002,500 bits or 6 gigabits of code in DNA. Apple’s first MacIntosh had 1 megabit.

Those Scientific Revolution’s scientists like Galileo, Newton, Boyle, Ray, Kepler, Pascal, Copernicus and many others claimed that the entire universe points toward an intelligence. Microbiologist Michael Behe, who wrote the book “Darwin’s Black Box,” said “if, deep in the woods, one were to come across a group of flowers that clearly spelled the name “LEHIGH, ”one would have no doubt that the pattern was the result of intelligent design.”

Hardware requires software to function. Glitches are common in manmade software that requires programmers to locate and correct them. The DNA code could not “evolve “ gradually and randomly because the mutant sections would result in gibberish, and the life of the cell would end.

Bill Gates has said that “ DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software ever created.” DNA is present at conception to create a unique person.

Who is this code writer? It is clearly not man.
