DEAR EDITOR:

There are many traffic problems in east Cobb. Robinson Road is one. There should be a traffic sensitive light at Fullers Park. The unnecessary stop causes many backups and frustrations. A left-turn arrow on Old Canton and Robinson is a must.

There is no way to make a legal left turn from Old Canton to Robinson most of the day and impossible during peak work travel times. There is no turn lane on Old Canton except at the light. Holly Springs Road has a turn lane and a left-turn arrow at Post Oak Tritt. In addition, why don’t we have more right-turn lanes? It seems there could be better planning by the DOT.

I have called and emailed the DOT concerning the problem at the Old Canton/Robinson Road light with a response, “there is not enough traffic to warrant a left-turn signal” Even Bob Ott’s office got the same response. They must have checked the intersection at midnight! I hope there isn’t a fatal accident there before something is done about this.

Wish more east Cobb residents would call and voice their concerns. I can’t be the only one who sees these things as a problem.
