DEAR EDITOR:

The series of detailed articles on “How The Braves Came to Cobb.” has been utterly fascinating. Equally pleasing is that a book is coming out on this extraordinary story, assuring that the history of our county will include a source for all the remarkable details. Tim Lee will attain his rightful place as one of the greatest figures in that history.

As we watched this unfold over several years, I could not help thinking of Thomas Jefferson, who, like Tim, struck while the iron was hot to accomplish an amazing transaction for constituents. Jefferson, like Tim, faced a barrage of criticism from the process-obsessed in his securing the Louisiana Purchase. We are grateful for the courage of such individuals who exemplify uniquely American boldness.
