DEAR EDITOR:

It has been extremely obvious that the American people have deserted the Godly principles which our forefathers stressed in forming this country.

Our forefathers and subsequent presidents have vehemently supported and endorsed law-abiding principles and the need to seek God’s divine wisdom and guidance. His will and direction, overseeing the laws of our land, is paramount to maintaining a strong republic with liberty and justice for all. For adhering to our laws is the backbone of our Constitution. It was George Washington who said “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” But unfortunately the abolishment of God and His principles have taken a toll on our society.

The evidence of this is the looting, burning, and even attacks on police officers in this country. The desire to get rid of I.C.E. and defund the police would be a wreckless form of lawlessness. Then during the election, some showed their lawlessness by doing a raffle for ballots ... this is criminal activity labeled by a six-letter word called felony! Still others kicked poll watchers out and even beat up a poll watcher, sending him to the hospital!

It was Thomas Jefferson who said “God who gave us life, gave us liberty. Can liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that those liberties are the gift of God?” Disgustingly we see the lawlessness in our everyday citizens as well as our politicians in our states and in Washington, DC. This country is in desperate need of a spiritual revival! We need to get back to God’s principles and the teachings of the Bible. For it was Calvin Coolidge who said “The foundation of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.” For the time is now families ... church ... government ... to rise up and call on Him! As it says in 2 Chronicles: 14-15 ... “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive them their sin and heal their land.”
