DEAR EDITOR:

I would like to respond to Ms. Donna Wong’s letter published in the 8/25/20 edition. I would like to ask what’s wrong about identifying and naming a virus after the source area of the world it originates from? Answer: nothing! What’s supposedly would be considered racist about this? Answer again: absolutely nothing!

We will become a pathetic and sorry society indeed if we let others try to direct and shame how we speak and communicate when we accurately identify items and events in our living environment. Naming a virus after the area of the world it originates from is a normal and well established policy.
