DEAR EDITOR:

RE: “Cobb wants buses and trains but no taxes,” MDJ, 11/11

It is no surprise that the latest, most recent survey of metro Atlanta residents finds that transportation is the biggest problem we have. And yes, we are smart enough to realize that the only way to combat this problem is with public transportation. And further, we are also smart enough to know that raising taxes to pay for a solution to this problem is no guarantee that politicians will use that money to address the problem. Why would taxpayers want to pay more so politicians can conduct more meaningless surveys or fund more studies on issues that already have had multiple studies conducted?

The latest results of this transportation survey should serve as a no confidence vote in our state and local politicians to actually fix the transportation problems. Rather than participate in another survey, let’s just go to the polls and vote the bums out!
