DEAR EDITOR:

Dick Yarbrough’s column on The Heartland Institute and their support of the tobacco industry and school vouchers was the best thing he has ever written. The name Heartland rang a bell so I went to Wikipedia (good story).

They are frequently found in letters to the editor across the country. It’s a Koch brothers organization. Naturally, they criticize evidence of global warming, support fracking, and criticize mass transit. If it doesn’t use petroleum, it’s evil. They call pollution “Free Market Environmentalism.” Conservatives like the Koches have no need for government or its rules which explains the praise of non-public schools. They don’t like taxes, have advocated for privatization of roads and all things public.

Mr. Yarbrough, a brief review of the Heartland Institute will give you enough material to write 20 columns.
