DEAR EDITOR:

The School ROCS protest has a number of “demands” for the Cobb County school board. While some of these “demands” might seem reasonable at first glance, the true agenda of this group is revealed in the demand for anti-racism “training” by someone from outside the school district with a background in critical race theory.

What they are proposing is indoctrination into a toxic neo-Marxist mindset that actually heightens racial tensions. Critical race theory sees all human activity through a lens of racial division in which all white people are oppressors and all non-whites are victims. It considers racism an unalterable condition and denies individual human responsibility in obtaining an education, nurturing healthy human relationships, and seeking economic improvement. One result is hate and resentment on all sides.

Given their radical leftist agenda, I question whether they are serious about students and teachers returning to school anytime soon. I strongly urge the school board to educate themselves on critical race theory and take every possible action to prevent its destructive presence in our schools.
