The State Bar of Georgia congratulates Bryan P. Tyson, a partner of Cumberland area-based Taylor English Duma LLP, on his appointment to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Appellate Practice and Educational Resource Center Inc.
All Georgians will benefit from Mr. Tyson’s service as a board member of the center, which provides free representation to indigent death-sentenced Georgia prisoners in state and federal habeas corpus proceedings challenging their capital convictions and death sentences. The center is responsible for ensuring that all of Georgia’s death sentenced prisoners have meaningful and vigorous representation at this critical stage of death penalty case review.
A past executive director of the Georgia Public Defender Council, Mr. Tyson also chaired the State Bar of Georgia’s Appellate Practice Section and served on the State Bar’s Indigent Defense Committee.
Bryan Tyson’s acceptance of this appointment demonstrates his ongoing commitment to serving the public and the justice system. His fellow State Bar of Georgia members wish him well in this capacity of professional leadership.
President, State Bar of Georgia
