The long-term effects of climate change for us and certainly for our children and grandchildren look pretty awful. Just to name a few, we can expect hotter summers and higher electricity bills, increasing in pressures on agriculture, food prices and immigration.

A border wall may reduce the flow of immigration across our southern border, but it won’t stop climate change and its effects on America or Georgia.

The good news is that there are solutions to this miserable problem. The bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus in the US House of Representatives is working on a bill that will put a fee on carbon and return the proceeds to the American people. If enacted, it would be a major step toward reducing the threat of climate change and give a boost to our economy.

How ironic that Mr. Huckaby derides “uniformed Americans” when his column is replete with misinformation.
