DEAR EDITOR:

The only ordinance on sale of puppies and kittens should be is that a pet store must supply a county-issued certificate that the animal for sale has been checked at a local county vet in good standing, been judged healthy for adoption with initial shots completed by said vet. Citizens deserve the right to have the breed of cat or dog they want.

Personally, having lived a long time, have found that mixed-breed dogs that I’ve owned were much smarter that any of my friends’ purebred dogs. To each their own with their cats and dogs.

Please neuter or spay your pets to prevent unwanted animals that will suffer.
