DEAR EDITOR:

Last night, I had a dream. I dreamed that the Democrat Party of my youth stayed truth to the the precepts it always claimed, which made my parents “yellow dog Democrats.”

When it came time for a vote on Roe v. Wade in 1973, the justices voted 9 to 0 for life, including Justice Thurgood Marshall who fought for black rights as the primary lawyer for the NAACP. Instead of 65,000,000 innocent babies being killed, the numbers were in the low millions.

When Ted Kennedy let that young woman suffocate in his car at Chappaquiddick, the Boston Globe reported the crime, and Kennedy was sentenced to five years in prison. He was ostracized and never ran for office again. As a result, Robert Bork was approved for the Supreme Court and gave years of service to the nation, following the Constitution.

The Democratic Party worked tirelessly to keep black families together, proudly bragging about the fact that 30%-plus of them had both mothers and fathers.

The Democratic Party was in the forefront, seeing that our educational system taught the true history of America, the greatest, freest country in the history of the world.

The Democratic Party led the fight to keep illegal immigrants from coming into the country.

The Republican Party remained the party of the Rockefellers, and other rich families.

Then, I woke up and found that nothing had changed ... that the Democratic Party was the party of abortion, gun control, open borders, higher taxes and big government. The Republican Party was the party of the Constitution and freedom. I went to my garage, picked up the “Trump 2020 — Keep America Great” sign and put it in my yard.
