DEAR EDITOR:

It was after the MDJ went to just Saturday home delivery that I wrote and lamented that I’d miss getting a daily print copy. But, it really ain’t so bad as MDJ still puts out a fine newspaper.

It was with great sadness that I read of Mr. Gideon Alawine, a MDJ home delivery carrier, who was killed in a car wreck very early Saturday morning. Cobb Police have charged the offending driver with numerous felonies and misdemeanors.

Having delivered newspapers as a young man I know how hard the work is and one never knows the dangers that are out there. Please pray for Mr. Alawine’s wife and family and for all those who deliver, print and write the news; be they liberal, conservative or independent, they’re the ones who put their heart into what they do.
