DEAR EDITOR:

Trump’s tax plan needs to focus on protecting anti-poverty programs and the middle/lower class. The current tax plan would include massive cuts to the wealthy and big corporations, who don’t need any more handouts.

This can end up costing us trillions of dollars over the next ten years and significantly widen wealth equality in America. SNAP, Medicaid, the Earned Income Tax Credit and other economic development programs that millions of Americans rely on are at risk with these cuts.

I encourage all readers to contact Sen. Isakson, and Sen. Perdue, as well as their state representative and tell them it’s unconscionable that Congress would continue to give handouts to the rich and cut from programs that support the working class.

Many of those rich provide jobs for working people. Is that so bad? The small business owners for the most part file their taxes as individuals and pay a heavy tax> People should be allowed to keep more of their money and not be spent foolishly by the government.
