Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and respected jurist, retired Chief Justice P. Harris Hines, 75, of Marietta, GA passed away on November 4, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta with Rev. Joe Evans, Rev. Joe Brice, and Dr. Jim Speed officiating.

Harris is survived by his loving wife, Helen Hill Hines, of Marietta; daughter, Mary Margaret Doyle and husband, Clem, of Marietta; son, James Harris "Hap" Hines and wife, Kelly, of Newnan; and four grandchildren, Harris Clay Doyle, Charles Hines Doyle, Edith Anne Hines, and Preston Harris Hines, II.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12 in the Historic Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. The family requests no flowers but donations be can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Marietta Mission Council, 189 Church Street, Marietta GA 30060, or MUST Ministries, P.O. Box 1717 Marietta, GA 30061, in memory of retired Chief Justice P. Harris Hines. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.
