William (Bill)  Evans

William "Bill" Evans passed away at home on November 22, 2021. He was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He was an avid Gator fan! He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Harry Evans and his sister, Nancy Aley. Bill is survived by his wife, Pat Evans; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mark Biffle; and several nieces and nephews. Bill attended Marion Military Institute and served in the United States Army. After the Army, he was employed by Winn-Dixie and was soon transferred to the Atlanta division. Later, he joined the sales force of E.J. Brach & Sons. Bill was a longtime member of Marietta First United Methodist Church and the Open-Door Sunday School Class where he served on numerous committees. He sang with the Georgia Festival Chorus for many years. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Marietta First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Avenue. Rev. Dr. Julie Boone and Rev. Cecil Fike will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Georgia Chapter Alzheimer's Association, (alz.org/Georgia) are greatly appreciated. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta is handling the arrangements.
