Jack Collins

Jack Allen Collins, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 4, 2021 in Cartersville, Georgia. He was born on April 9, 1942, son of the late Harold Collins and Merle Harbican Collins. Jack was a very successful man. Earlier in life, he relocated from Chicago to Georgia to help manage a family business. He became the owner and operator of Charlie's Beer and Wine liquor store for twenty years then would later be the owner of Amerimart off Burnt Hickory Road in Cartersville. He was the owner for fifteen years before retiring. Jack was a very disciplined man who was always very personable with his customers. Having such a successful business, being the only beverage store in the town, became friends with everyone. One might say, Jack never met a stranger. He also enjoyed being outside and spending time hunting and fishing. On July 17, 1964 he married the love of his life, Carol Steffen. They spent forty-nine years together, just shy of fifty years, before her passing. Jack was a loving man who will be missed dearly. Jack is survived by his sons, Kevin Collins, Chris Collins and Sean Collins; brother, Donald (Lucky) Collins; grandchildren, Kaleigh (Justin) Robinson and Stefani Collins; and furbaby, Murfee Collins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org. A Celebration of Life for Jack Collins will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr., Cartersville, Georgia. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Pineridge Memorial Park.
