Kenneth  Ball

Kenneth Gray Ball, age 64, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Richmond, Va., died January 9, 2021 in Marietta, Ga. after being diagnosed 15 years ago with rare, incurable Dermatomyositis. This never diminished his gentleness and strong Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Gray Ball and Katherine T. Ball. He graduated salutatorian from Bermuda Academy and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1978 where he became a lifelong Gamecock fan. His career spanned in excess of 25 years with Gulf Oil-Chevron. He is survived by his devoted cousin, Betty Schnellenberger (Jim); her three daughters, Melissa, Robin and Kristin; and dear friend, Xin Li. He loved British Humor, the BBC, college football and traveled extensively, including trips to Egypt, China and The Caribbean. He was known for his generosity and kindness. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Maury Cemetery in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Myositis Association, 2000 Duke St., Suite 300, Alexandria, Va. 22314.
