A puppy left in a hot vehicle for about two hours outside a Cobb County park has led to charges against a Vinings woman.
A June 4 warrant charges Miriam Waddell Nunn with cruelty to animals after Cobb Police the afternoon of May 28 discovered a gray male puppy unattended in a vehicle at Jim Miller Park on Callaway Road between Windy Hill Road and Al Bishop Drive.
The outside temperature that afternoon had been 93 degrees, with the average temperature inside the vehicle being 112 degrees, according to the warrant. The extreme temps over the course of two hours led to the dog becoming dehydrated and requiring fluid resuscitation from the Cobb Emergency Vet Clinic.
Nunn was not in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Monday afternoon, with Cobb Sheriff’s Office records indicating that she had not been jailed in the days prior to or since the warrant’s issuance.
