Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 777 Townpark Lane in Kennesaw, is kicking off summer by celebrating National Flip Flop Day on Friday.

National Flip Flop Day is the restaurant’s way to kick off summer while also raising awareness and funds for its national charity partner, Camp Sunshine — a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses. Customers wearing flip flops into the restaurant between 2 and 7 p.m. will receive a free, limited edition Sunshine Smoothie in a 16-ounce, 20th anniversary souvenir cup.

“We can’t think of a better way to thank all of our guests than treating them to a free smoothie to kick off the summer,” said Chris Pike, owner of the Kennesaw Tropical Smoothie Café. “We are also looking forward to launching our local fundraising campaign to send a child and to Camp Sunshine.”

The Kennesaw community is encouraged to share their experience on social media and can use the social hashtag for National Flip Flop day, #TSCflipflop.

Founded in 1997, Tropical Smoothie Café is a fast-casual restaurant concept inspiring healthy lifestyles across the country, with almost 600 locations nationwide.
