Synovus Financial Group’s new office building is set to officially open in Cumberland on Monday when the Columbus-based company cuts the ribbon on the seven-story, 173,000-square-foot all-glass building.
Known as 3400 Overton, the new building is located just inside I-285, at the intersection of Akers Mill Road and Cumberland Boulevard near SunTrust Park. The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m.
Synovus is anchoring the project, occupying floors four through seven as well as a branch office on the ground level. An additional 52,400 square feet of office space is available for lease.
According to commercial real estate information and marketing firm CoStar, Birmingham-based insurance firm McGriff, Seibels & Williams leased 28,950 square feet in the tower, and will occupy the third and part of the first floor.
The new building is owned by TPA Group and USAA Real Estate and was built by Skanska Construction. It features a cafe, fitness center, car wash, landscaped plaza overlooking the Chattahoochee National Forest and covered parking for 650 cars with access to and from I-75 and I-285.
