The Georgia Army National Guard conducted Memorial Day helicopter flyovers on Monday, passing over locations including Atlanta, Forsyth County and Cherokee County hospitals, Stone Mountain, Lake Lanier, as well as Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and the Marietta National Cemetery.

Four UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters left Clay National Guard Center at 10:30 a.m. Monday and finished their route just after noon at the Marietta National Cemetery. The helicopters also flew over Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

A group of about 50 locals, who had organized their own brief Memorial Day ceremony waited at the cemetery to watch the flyover.
