Faucet for Boil Water advistory

County officials late Wednesday morning lifted the boil water advisory for south Cobb following Tuesday’s water main break and tests conducted on the water content.

Test results showed no contamination to Cobb County’s water supply from Tuesday’s water link break and subsequent repair, county spokesperson Ross Cavitt said.

A break in a Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority main line forced crews to cut water to make repairs, resulting in low water pressure to part of the Cobb County Water System. After initial studies, the system issued a boil water advisory for a section of the southern part of the county until testing could be done.

Results of those tests, which were analyzed by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, were returned Wednesday morning and prompted the water system to lift the advisory, Cavitt added.
