Officers serving a warrant at an east Cobb home turned up nearly 75 pounds of cocaine, according to the Cobb County Magistrate Court.
Police said the drugs were found Friday morning at 4150 Lower Roswell Road, a home near Indian Hills Country Club and the east Cobb government center. Two men were arrested at the scene. Carlos Arturo Villegas Silva, 22, is charged with drug trafficking and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and Jorge Salvador Pineda, 30, is charged with giving a false name or date of birth.
Both listed the Lower Roswell home as their home address, and both show holds from the U.S. Department of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement on their booking sheets, indicating they may be eligible for deportation. Villegas Silva was born in Mexico and Pineda was born in El Salvador, the records show.
Police reported finding 27 kilos of cocaine, or just under 60 pounds, in the master bedroom and another stash in a car, bringing the total amount of drugs to 74.5 pounds.
Both men remain in Cobb County jail. Villegas Silva is not eligible for bond, and Pineda has $5,000 bond.
