City splash pads are beginning to open for the season, and families were out enjoying the water at Marietta's Elizabeth Porter Park on Tuesday afternoon. The "sprayground" at Elizabeth Porter Park opened May 28 for its seven-days-per-week schedule, with Mondays reserved for private rentals. Until Aug. 2, hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m. with 30-minute breaks every two hours. Admission is $2 for city residents and $3 for non-residents.

Meanwhile, Kennesaw's splash pad at Swift-Cantrell Park opened on Memorial Day. Until Aug. 1, the splash pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Thursdays, when it's closed for maintenance. Thursdays can also be reserved for private parties. Admission is $2 per person, but Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day are free.
