One of the largest physician-owned orthopedic and sports medicine practices in the greater Atlanta area soon will slide into its new location an outfielder’s throw away from SunTrust Park.

OrthoAtlanta has set April 2 as the opening date of its 14th metro area office, which is going into The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development next to the Atlanta Braves’ home field. The company’s new office will serve existing patients and accept new ones with orthopedic and sports medicine needs ranging from sprains, strains and fractures, workers’ compensation injuries, to complex injuries that may require total joint preservation, reconstruction or replacement, and both non-surgical and surgical spine care needs.

Its opening will come just days after the Braves’ March 29 season-opening game at SunTrust Park against the Philadelphia Phillies, with its second-floor facility located adjacent to Sweet Pete’s candy shop and immediately across from CRU Food & Wine Bar. Parking will be on the Battery’s Red Deck.

“We are excited to announce the addition of a new OrthoAtlanta office at The Battery Atlanta,” said Dr. Michael J. Behr, OrthoAtlanta medical director. “OrthoAtlanta at the Battery is being designed with patient convenience, comfort and access in mind. The office will provide patients with a single destination for their orthopedic and sports medicine needs.”

OrthoAtlanta selected Marietta-based C&W Contracting Services Inc. as their general contractor for the 6,812-square foot location. The facility will include a check-in area, eight exam rooms, onsite X-ray, onsite physical therapy facilities and more.

Orthopedic services offered will include on-site X-ray, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services including physical therapy.

Physicians set to serve patients at OrthoAtlanta’s new site include orthopedic surgeons, D. Hodari Brooks, MD, total joint reconstruction and replacement; Donald E. Fowler, MD, sports medicine and shoulder; Eric I. Francke, MD, spine; Keith A. Lamberson, MD, sports medicine; and physician, Yong S. Lee, MD, physical medicine and rehabilitation.
