The person who was struck and killed by a car in Kennesaw Saturday night has been identified as Rubina Jessica Mauricio, according to the Kennesaw Police Department.

Mauricio was walking along Cobb Parkway Saturday near Mack Dobbs Road when she was killed by a vehicle. The drivers involved in the incident remained at the scene of the collision and charges have not been filed, according to Lt. Joy Policarpio, of the Kennesaw Police Department.

The incident was one of three over the weekend in which pedestrians were killed by cars in Cobb. Early Saturday morning, Mainor Asahel Chirinos Sanchez, a 26-year-old Marietta man, was hit by a car while walking on I-75 near South Marietta Parkway. Then on Sunday night, a 7-year-old girl was killed in an Acworth hit-and-run while walking in the traffic lane of New McEver Road.

How about also release the name(s) of the city planners and the DOT traffic engineer(s)? They're the guiltiest parties of all in every car-ped crash.
