Dunleith Elementary School will be getting a new principal after the Marietta school board’s approval Thursday.

The board’s vote was 6-0, with Angela Orange absent from the meeting.

Ayodele Richardson will take the reins at Dunleith starting July 8. Richardson replaces Jeffrey Mosley, who on the same date will take over as the Marietta school district’s director of academic programming.

Richardson will receive an annual salary of $117,021. Mosley will take a pay cut with his new position, from $108,467 to $106,956.

In her most recent role, Richardson served four years as assistant principal at Crabapple Crossing Elementary in Milton. She also served one year as assistant principal for Elkins Pointe Middle School in Roswell.

Richardson said for the 12 years prior to service as an administrator, she taught first and second grades, as well as K-5 gifted courses.

“Through the joys and hardships of my educational experiences, I can say without a doubt that the relationships I cultivated with students, families and teachers have been the most impactful for me,” she said.
