The city of Marietta announced it will partner with the Marietta Art Council to celebrate Marietta’s long-awaited Mountain to River Trail on April 14-15 during the M2R Trailfest.

The M2R Trailfest will stretch from Lewis Park near WellStar Kennestone Hospital, through Marietta Square and ends in Brown Park. Participants can travel along the trail and enjoy performing and visual artists.

The juried art festival will focus on three themes — the experience of living in Marietta, health and well-being and/or the history of Marietta. All installations will be outdoors for a minimum of two days and visual art installations will have a maximum display time of 60 days. Interested artists and art groups should visit and submit their application by Jan. 8.

Although many TrailFest artists are able to donate their talents to the inaugural festival free of charge, some do require payment for their materials, time and products. Sponsorships will fund the artist of one’s choice with visible attribution of the sponsor’s generosity. Funds raised in excess of Trailfest expenses will be used to support the Marietta Art Council.
