A man has been arrested in connection to the punching and robbery of an 84-year-old woman outside at a Cobb grocery store Tuesday.
Oluwole Olushola, 42, of Atlanta is charged in the attack of a woman twice his age in the Publix parking lot at 2451 Cumberland Parkway in Vinings, near the intersection of Paces Ferry Road and Interstate 285, according to Sgt. Wayne Delk, a spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.
The woman was punched in the face before her purse was stolen, police previously said.
After Olushola was identified as a suspect, Delk said, the U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force located him and took him into custody Friday.
In addition to the initial robbery charge, Olushola faces numerous other charges ranging from battery to fraud as the investigation continues.
Olushola was in the process of being booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on Friday afternoon, jail records showed.
In their efforts to make an arrest in the case, Cobb Police released a photo of the 2005 Toyota Camry authorities believed Olushola left the scene in. Delk said Thursday the public would be an important partner in identifying the vehicle, as the police would not be able to track the license plate.
Delk said the department had been aided in the case by “all the tips that came in.”
