It’s almost time for the class of 2019 to throw their caps in the air.

Graduation season is upon us, and thousands of seniors from Marietta High, Cobb County Schools and local private schools will be leaving their high school days behind.

Here’s what to know about local graduations:

Cobb County Schools

Over 8,000 seniors from Cobb’s 17 high schools will graduate between Monday, May 20 and Saturday, May 25.

Unless noted otherwise, all graduation ceremonies will be held at the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center, located at 590 Cobb Ave. in Kennesaw.

Monday, May 20 – Cobb Horizon High School, 7 p.m. at the Lassiter High School Concert Hall, at 2601 Shallowford Road, Marietta.

Tuesday, May 21 – Kell High School, 3:30 p.m.; and South Cobb High School, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 22 – Osborne High School, 3:30 p.m.; Wheeler High School at 6:30 p.m. in the Wheeler gymnasium, 375 Holt Road NE, Marietta; Pebblebrook High School, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 23 – McEachern High School, 9 a.m. at Cantrell Stadium on campus, 2400 New MacLand Road, Powder Springs; North Cobb High School, 10 a.m.; Lassiter High School, 2:30 p.m.; Hillgrove High School, 7 p.m.

Friday, May 24 – Allatoona High School, 9 a.m. at Allatoona Stadium, 3300 Dallas Acworth Highway NW, Acworth; Walton High School, 10 a.m.; Harrison High School, 2:30 p.m.; Pope High School, 7 p.m.

Saturday, May 25 – Campbell High School, 10 a.m.; Kennesaw Mountain High School, 2:30 p.m.; Sprayberry High School, 7 p.m.

Marietta High School

Blue Devil grads will walk on Saturday, May 25, at 9 a.m. at Northcutt Stadium at 121 Winn St. in Marietta.

Each graduate will receive 12 graduation tickets. Graduates don’t need a ticket to get in, but all guests do, regardless of age.

Graduates need to park at Marietta High School by 7:30 a.m. or be dropped off by parents at Marietta Middle School before 8 a.m. There is no student parking at Marietta Middle School.

Guests may park at Marietta Middle School in the parking lot at the intersection of Walthall and Maple streets. Parking is also available at Marietta First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Ave., West Side elementary, 344 Polk St. and at Marietta High School.

The gates to the stadium will close at 8:50 a.m.

A shuttle will run between the stadium, Marietta High and Marietta First United before and after the ceremony.

In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Marietta High School gym, and each student will only get five tickets, though video streaming will be available online as well as in the school performing arts center and cafeteria.

Private Schools

Several local private schools will hold commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 18.

The Walker School’s graduation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Coles Gym on campus.

North Cobb Christian School seniors will graduate at 10 a.m. at West Ridge Church.

Mount Paran Christian School’s students will walk at 9 a.m. at Turner Chapel.

Dominion Christian School will hold graduation at 1 p.m. at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

Whitefield Academy will also hold its commencement ceremony May 18.
