West Cobb Senior Center, 4915 Dallas Highway in Powder Springs, will have Women's Self Defense on Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office will show participants how to be aware of their surroundings, what to do if approached by a stranger, how to react if attacked and what attackers target when choosing a victim.

Free, but registration is required. Space is limited to 15 people.
