Two seniors from the Mount Paran Christian School class of 2022 have been recognized as outstanding scholars.

Steven Baker has been named a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist and Gabriana Carisma has been named a College Board National Hispanic Scholar.

Baker is a multi-talented student who has attended MPCS since preschool. He has been an instrumental part of the Eagle Robotics program since middle school and involved in PLTW coursework. During high school, he has been part of NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, Key Club, SGA, pep band and is an AP Scholar with Distinction. He is also an avid pianist.

Carisma is one of 32,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs. She has been designated as a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar, based on her academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP Exams and in her classroom. She is an engaged student at MPCS, involved with PromRED, Beta Club, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, vice president of the National Art Honor Society, PMI Mentor, Creative Writing Club and the Arts at MPCS.
