The Fielding Lewis Chapter of The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held a workday on Oct. 5 to gather and ship personal care items, snacks, powdered drinks and small electronics to American troops serving overseas.

Approximately 20 chapter members and guests participated in packing 33 boxes for shipment abroad. Chapter members folded “pocket flags” to include in each box along with handwritten notes to the soldiers. The day also included a prayer service to commemorate the founding of DAR and prayers for the country and military.

The Fielding Lewis Chapter sponsors many different patriotic and community activities during the year.
