On June 22 at 3 p.m., the Big Chicken Chorus will present Celebrating the Gentlemen, a tribute show to honor Gentlemen’s Agreement, the iconic winners of the 1971 International Barbershop Harmony Society Gold Medal and specifically its lead, Drayton Justus.

Drayton, a member of the Big Chicken Chorus, served the Barbershop Harmony Society as a performer, chorus director, valued mentor and international president for nearly 60 years.

Chorus President Terry Morrison said, “We are extremely excited about producing this tribute to one of America’s best-loved barbershop quartets, Gentlemen’s Agreement, as well as honoring the group’s last surviving member, our own Drayton Justus.”

The show will feature many of Gentlemen’s Agreement’s classic renditions as performed by the Big Chicken Chorus, the Atlanta Vocal Project, the Stone Mountain Chorus and Chicken Little. Featured quartets performing will be Interstate Rivals (the 1987 BHS Gold Medal winners), Category 4 and Quadraphonics.

“This is the most challenging show that the Chorus has produced in its history. We have taken it on though as a labor of love for Drayton who for years served as quiet leader, mentor, inspiration and friend of the Big Chicken Chorus,” said Shelby Robert, Music and Performance VP.

General admission tickets and the VIP Package are available. The VIP package includes a prime seat for the concert, plus access to a pre-concert reception on the stage with performing quartets and other luminaries.

The show will be at the newly-opened Byers Theatre, Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center (1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs 30328) a 1000-plus seat venue. Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
