A group of local kids is learning all about staying safe, thanks to officers from the Marietta Police Department, Cobb County Police Department and the Cobb County Safety Village.

The Safety Village’s first-ever Rad Kids Summer Camp teaches children between 8 and 12 all about staying safe, with lessons on topics including bullying, online safety, fire safety and thwarting child predators.

On Monday afternoon, one class of students learned what to do if somebody tries to touch them in a way that makes them uncomfortable. They practiced running for help, calling 911, screaming “Stay away!” at the top of their lungs and performing basic defense stances.
