A Cobb police vehicle crashed into the dividing barrier at the Windy Hill Road exit of Interstate 75 southbound on Tuesday evening. The cause of the crash will be investigated.

CUMBERLAND — Police say a Cobb officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries after his patrol vehicle struck a dividing barrier at the Windy Hill Road exit of Interstate 75 southbound on Tuesday evening.

The officer, who police did not identify, is expected to recover, according to Officer Neil Penirelli, a spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.

Penirelli said the cause of the crash, which involved only the patrol vehicle, is not yet known but will be investigated. No other injuries were reported.
