Villa Rica police were searching for the suspect in a Monday robbery of a West Bankhead Highway bank.

SunTrust Bank at 435 W. Bankhead Hwy. reported a robbery around 2:25 p.m.

Responding officers found that a black male had presented a note to the bank teller and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money, the Villa Rica Police reported. The suspect then fled the bank and ran towards the rear of nearby Farmer’s Home Furniture.

"Officers searched the area but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect," the department reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately late 40s to early 50s in age; 5 feet, 8 inches in height; with a slim build.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Terry at (678) 840-1322 or by email at Tipsters may remain anonymous, police said.
