The Hiram Rosenwald School & Museum on Hiram-Douglasville Highway (Ga. Hwy. 92) is among only 38 Rosenwald school buildings still standing out of 242 built in Georgia in the early 20th century.

The Paulding County Democratic Committee will be hosting its second annual Grill & Chill Summer Cookout June 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rosenwald School & Museum in Hiram.

The event is free and open to the public, but the committee is asking those planning to attend to preregister so organizers will know how much food to have available.

Registration can be done by visiting https://tinyurl.com/PCDemsBBQ.

Donations will be accepted at the venue location but are not tax deductible, a news release stated.

Hiram Rosenwald School & Museum is at 732 Hiram-Douglasville Hwy. in Hiram.

And, as an added bonus, the Prime of Paulding Red White and Boom Fireworks & Expo will be going on at Ben Hill Strickland Park, just a 5-minute walk away, so stick around afterwards and watch the show!
