The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office recently hosted a retirement reception for Sgt. Dwayne Cox.

Cox began his career in law enforcement with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and officially retired on June 7, 2019.

Cox started out as a jailer in the Detention Center, transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division where he became a P.O.S.T.-certified deputy, and later worked as a detective.

He concluded his career as the supervisor of the Inmate Workforce Division where he oversaw the daily operations of the inmates who perform jobs like cutting grass, cleaning trash off of county road right of ways, and cleaning government buildings.
