An area sporting goods company’s raffle for thousands of dollars worth of firearms will help a nonprofit assist area veterans with mental health needs.
Gable Sporting Goods in Douglasville is selling tickets to a raffle for two rifles and accessories worth a total of $3,300 to benefit the nonprofit Operation Not Forgotten.
Operation Not Forgotten works in Paulding and other area counties to improve a veteran’s quality of life in the areas of mental and emotional health and social and spiritual needs.
First prize in “The Great Gun Raffle” sponsored by Gable is an Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Tavor X95 rifle 5.56 NATO rifle with case worth more than $2,400.

Second prize is a Smith & Wesson 15/22 22LR AR rifle worth more than $900 with upgrades.
Upgrades include a Blue Force Vickars combat sling, carrying case, six magazines, Magpul sights, next level Armament charging handle, Kinett Tech barrel shroud and 500 rounds of 22-caliber LR ammunition, the flyer stated.

All profits from the raffle will go to Operation Not Forgotten, an all-volunteer program of the nonprofit Life Renewed International. Its mission is to measurably improve a veteran’s quality of life in the areas of mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.
Operation Not Forgotten works through Vet Life Communities, a network of local weekly peer-based support groups meeting regularly in Paulding, Cherokee and Henry counties and in two areas for male veterans through Highland Rivers Mental Health, which operates in Bartow and other northwest Georgia counties.
The nonprofit offers the tools necessary to address issues such as PTSD and suicidal ideation to help veterans and their families transition to life outside the military.
Operation Not Forgotten will be supplying materials and support for the Vet Life Community veteran programs in north Georgia and the veteran program of Highland Rivers, one of the largest providers of mental health and substance use treatment and recovery services in Georgia.
The raffle drawing is set for July 6. For more information, call Gable Sporting Goods at 770-942-5397.
