"American Idol" 2018 runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson performed a concert Saturday, April 27, in his hometown of Dallas for the first time since May 2018.

Hutchinson played a 17-song set consisting of familiar covers, such as "Folsom Prison Blues," and new originals such as "Left of Me" and the unreleased "Workhorse."

The South Paulding High School graduate told the crowd in downtown Dallas it was his first concert with a full band, which included Benji Shanks on lead guitar, Blake Parris on bass guitar, and Kent Aberle on drums.

Afterward, he posed for photos with fans and signed merchandise sold at a booth at the rear of the concert area.

Hutchinson, 20, recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a recording career. He has released two songs, "Left of Me" and a cover version of the Post Malone song "Better Now" on digital music platforms this year.

He blamed some vocal problems during the April 27 concert on recently returning from Los Angeles where he performed with girlfriend and 2018 winner Maddie Poppe during a live broadcast of this season's "American Idol."

His last Dallas concert came during the week before the final "Idol" episode in May 2018.
