Georgia state lawmakers recently honored Dallas resident and musician Caleb Lee Hutchinson for his work to make the finals of the ABC-TV music competition show “American Idol” in 2018.

The Georgia House of Representatives on Feb. 22 gave Hutchinson a copy of House Resolution 167 it approved to commend him for his success on the show.

The musician then performed a part of an original song called “Workhorse” for the House members.

Hutchinson, 19, finished as runner-up to Maddie Poppe after nationwide voting in May.
