Independence Day celebrations are set to begin this weekend in Bartow and Paulding counties and continue through the holiday to July 6.

Some public events are set to include:

“Prime of Paulding Red White & Boom Fireworks & Expo” is set for Saturday, June 29, beginning at 5 p.m. in Hiram.

The city of Hiram and Paulding Chamber of Commerce are hosting, and Precision Heating & Air is the presenting sponsor, for the event at Ben Hill Strickland Park in Hiram.

The park is located off Ga. Hwy. 92 at 295 Oak St. in Hiram.

The Trey Teem Band is set to perform on the MembersFirst Credit Union stage. Inflatables and children’s activities are planned for the Hardy Automotive Family Fun Zone, while the Thrasher Coffee Food Zone will feature food and drinks for sale. Thrasher Coffee is also sponsoring a photo booth with free photographs by G&E Studios.

The fireworks show is set to begin at 9:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Carroll EMC and GreyStone Power Corp.

“Adairsville Celebrates America” is set for Saturday, June 29, 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Manning Mill Park in Adairsville.

Blankets or lawn chairs are encouraged for the event featuring vendors, food choices, music and fireworks at dark at the park at 163 Manning Mill Road NW in Adairsville.

The 116 Army Band and Cole Sitzlar will provide live music, according to the event Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/2597302166951639/.

Cartersville Fourth of July Parade and Celebration is set for Thursday, July 4.

The parade is set to begin at 9 a.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church parking lot. It will enter Douglas Street and turn right onto Church Street, left on Bartow Street, left on Main Street, left on Tennessee Street and left on East Church Street before returning to the church, a news release stated.

Georgia Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham will serve as grand marshal of the parade, hosted by the Rotary Club of Etowah and sponsored by Shottenkirk Honda.

After the parade, the July 4 Celebration at Dellinger Park will feature arts and crafts, children’s activities, live entertainment and a fireworks show at the end. Park activities are set to begin at 2 p.m. and run through 10 p.m. Admission is free and parking is $5 per vehicle.

A Kid’s Zone sponsored by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will feature inflatable slides, obstacle courses, bounces, Quad Euro Bungee and more.

Live entertainment on the Century Bank of Georgia Stage will feature local entertainment all day with Scott Thompson performing an acoustic show from 4 to 7 p.m., and Peachtree Station performing at 8 p.m. until fireworks.

“IndepenDance at the Pole Barn” concert and fireworks is set for July 6 beginning at 5 p.m. at Taylor Farm Park in Paulding County.

Fireworks are set to begin at 9 p.m. at the park located at 1380 Pine Valley Road in Powder Springs in southeast Paulding.

Paulding County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will host the event with a free concert featuring Dallas Martin Band and a fireworks show at dark.

Games will include a hula hoop contest, line dancing and celebrity lookalike contest. Activities and games subject to change without notice.

Picnic baskets and a blanket are encouraged. Food and drink vendors will be available. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Freedom Fest hosted by the Olde Town Hiram Business Association is scheduled for July 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. in downtown Hiram.

The family-friendly event will feature free entertainment including live music from Babe's Bayou Band, inflatables, free games and prizes for the kids, a balloonist, face painting, and an animal show featuring Scaly Adventures and their Critters.

Vendors and food trucks will be available.
