The Butterfly Festival at the Chattahoochee Nature Center is one of many activities to start off the summer in north Fulton Families can enjoy butterfly releases and up-close encounters..

Once final exams are turned in and graduation caps fly, kick off the summer with some of these Fulton events.

Stop by the Alpharetta Welcome Center to kick off summer with free pie. Residents and visitors will register to win a $100 gift card to Southern Baked Pie Company and then receive a free slice of Southern Baked pie to take home. One slice of pie per person/per registration. Multiple varieties of pie will be available. This is a free event.

Roll the dice and test your adventure skills at the Milton Branch Library as they host a D&D quest. Pre-made characters are available.

For those that wish to make their own, please pick up a packet and sheets at the front desk and speak to Mr. Blackstock.

Registration is required.

MOVIES IN THE PARK:

During one of two free movie nights this summer, families can enjoy the incredible sequel under the stars. Audiences can bring blankets or relax in amphitheater seating. The Amphitheater is covered and the event is rain or shine. Parking and admission are free.

Join the Chattahoochee Nature Center as it celebrates one of nature’s most regal insects. Families will enjoy butterfly releases and up-close encounters. Crafts, face painting, fairy houses, sidewalk art and vendors will be fluttering around the nature center as well.

Tickets are $12 for the general public and $8 for CNC members.

ROSWELL LAVENDER

FESTIVAL

♦ Saturday, June 8

♦ 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

♦ 535 Barrington Dr., Roswell

Join flower lovers and festivalgoers for the 9th annual Lavender Festival at Barrington Hall.

The festival celebrates all things lavender and has an abundance of food, shopping and lavender vendors.

Festival goers can also enjoy crafts, yoga and live music.

Admission and parking are free.

MINI CHEER CAMP AT MILTON HIGH SCHOOL

♦ June 10-14

♦ 9 a.m. to noon

♦ 13025 Birmingham Hwy, Milton

Let your hyper little ones join Milton High School’s cheerleaders for a mini cheer camp. Children in grades kindergarten through seventh are welcome to participate, and campers will learn cheers and dance routines. Tickets are $160 per camper and registration is available at www.miltoncheer.com/mini-camp.
